Is The Real Vegas Nowhere Near the Strip?
Off-Strip Oases: Why Red Rock and Durango Are Crushing It for Locals (And Smart Visitors)
If you’ve been to Vegas more than once and you’re still spending everyday shuffling the Strip like a first-timer chasing fountains and overpriced cocktails, you might be doing it wrong.
Sure, the Strip has its charms, the neon (or now LED) haze at 2 a.m., the people-watching that beats any show on the planet, but the real magic? It’s out here in the sprawl, where locals live, laugh, and play without the $25 minimums or sidewalk sweat, who am i kidding, it’s too dry to actually sweat.
My two favorite local casinos happen to be owned by Station Casinos: Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa and the new kid on the block, Durango Casino & Resort. Both have great deals that will make you question why you even booked a room on the Strip (newsflash, because it was probably cheaper). If you continue reading, you can hit both in a single day for a different Vegas experience that I guarantee you will enjoy.
