So, I’ve been thinking a lot about why I’m so hard on restaurants in Las Vegas, and dining out in general these days. It didn’t start with some grand philosophy. After some therapy (ok maybe it’s lying in bed unable to sleep) I’ve been able to source the origin of my anger, and It all started with a wedge salad.
We’ve been to this place probably 50 times. The wedge salad came with the freshest blue cheese dressing made daily in-house. The martini olives were hand-stuffed with the same creamiest blue cheese I’ve ever had. For someone on a low-salt diet, those olives weren’t just a garnish. They were the splurge. The barreled aged Old Fashioned hit right. They always had a special you could share and a chocolate cake with tons of layers. The steaks were decent even without the fire. It wasn’t perfect, but it was worth going back to.
