I don’t know when Vegas decided every meal had to feel like the best meal of your life.
Or at least the most expensive one.
We cook at home a lot. Not just to save money. Because the food is usually better. So when we drop $350 to $500 on dinner on vacation, I want to be impressed. For the last several years, I’m not. A handful of places still hit. The rest is one of the bigger letdowns on the Strip.
That’s why I don’t do star reviews anymore. I do the Vegas Return Test.
Would I spend my own money and happily go back?
For this one the question is even more useful.
Would I actually choose this place again when I already have somewhere to be?
You Don’t Need a Destination. You Need Dinner.
Knights game. Concert. You’re staying at New York-New York. You’re three drinks in and realize lunch was a bag of something from the room.
You don’t need sparklers and a dance routine with the entrée.
You need food.
