Well. It’s that time again.
The sidewalk in front of Bellagio is getting boxed in. People are playing human Frogger at Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard. The FUF1 energy is back in the group chats like it never left.
Back in May I wrote that Vegas didn’t have an F1 problem. It had a temporary-infrastructure problem. If you’re going to host Formula 1 for years, stop treating the racetrack like a traveling carnival.
Four months later, Vegas agreed with me.

Clark County locked the race in through 2037. County Manager Kevin Schiller said F1 committed to track-lighting foundations, underground conduit for power and communications, and permanent gates to move traffic. Commissioner Michael Naft said the only reason to give them more years was to condense setup, teardown, and disruption.
